My former career took me to Salt Lake City, Utah. While there, and before while still here in Austin, I had to deal with IT departments that were less than effective and not big on customer service. So, I began to teach myself small things like how to configure Outlook, map network drives and setup new users on our network. When I left SLC and came back to Texas in 2008 and after struggling for years to find a position anywhere close to the one I had in SLC, I decided to switch careers after almost 20 years in Document Services. Partly because of my struggleds, partly because I no longer wanted to be in a management position and partly because I began to take great interest in IT.
